Volunteers Fix Up Family Shelter
Author: from staff reports
Volunteers refurbished family rooms and the children’s playground at Urban Ministries of Durham’s Family Shelter in June. Five family rooms for women and children received new furniture, window treatments and bathroom accessories. The project was led by NC110, a group participating in the WorldLegacy Leadership Program, a coaching center in Morrisville. Several volunteers helped to complete this transformational project, including the Young Professionals of Durham, Beta Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., GOLD-N-LOVE, and numerous family and friends. Pictured is the WorldLegacy’s NC110 Leadership Class, Dana Schrenk, Dan Burrows, Birhanie Robinson and Mary Baird standing in the refurnished large family room.
